Get informed over attempt to end Republican August primaries

Dear Editor,

Are you a Republican that values the liberty to vote in the primaries? If so, you must be alerted to the attempt to revoke your vote!

The former Chair of the Michigan Republican Party, Kristina Karamo, is leading a team of delegates that are attempting to revoke your August primaries. They are seeking a top down approach that will create a centralization of power in a closed system while disenfranchising voters and candidates. Worse, this system steals your vote and can easily be taken over by one extreme radical faction or even Democrats.

This is one of the reasons the Karamo led are working so hard on messaging, inflaming division as it attacks fellow Republicans that have varied views and slanders those that don’t accept her way; disposing of them.

Delegates are important in stopping this because they are the voice of the party; they are voted in at your local polling locations called precincts. These delegates then elect your local Republican County Executive Committee as well as those to represent the District and State Conventions.

These conventions are just around the corner and this is where delegates will gather for internal party elections and decisions. Locally, the County Convention takes place on Feb. 15 and the District level on March 2. Team “Karamo” messaging is now inciting chaos upon these conventions where many delegates believe they can attempt to move for unlawful party business, bylaws that shut fellow Republicans out and to revoke your August primaries.

Those that are elected as delegates are imperative to the Party. Are they accurately representing your precinct?

Except for the presidential, they would decide who your local, district and state candidates would be on the ballots.

Do you trust a small room of delegates with your voice? Do you want these same delegates to be elected again in August to vote for an Authoritarian overall of the Republican Party?

These delegates want your power to ensure that their echo chamber is the singular faction that controls the Party. Do not be convinced by misleading messaging.

This is an authoritarian disaster.
