It takes a village

Motor Trend - - 2018 Best Driver’s Car -

To bring Best Driver’s Car to life, more than 40 people—editors, videographers, photographers, social media mavens, production assistants— piled into a handful of seven-passenger minivans and SUVS for crew transport. Then there’s the assorted box trucks and vans loaded with cameras and drones and supplies. It’s a massive logistical accomplishment, planned for months and carried out over two weeks.

There’s far more content than what appears in these pages. Check out Motor Trendõs website, on-demand video site, and our social media platforms. We’ve also created an hourlong broadcast for the Motor Trend Network (née Velocity), available on most cable networks.

We couldn’t make BDC happen without support from the California Highway Patrol in securing State Route 198, Monterey County in providing Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca for the event, the taxpaying citizens of Monterey, who helped subsidize our time at the track, and the folks from Honda/acura who helped feed us. Special thanks go to Tim Anderson, president of Racepak, and his crack team of technicians who helped take our hot lap data consumption to new levels of deliciousness and detail. AM
