BEATEN-DOWN Brad Pitt has been completely destroyed by Hollywood and his poisonous relationship with Angelina Jolie — and now, his family wishes he’d never left first wife Jennifer Aniston!
That’s the conclusion of an insider close to the Pitts who was stunned and shocked at how much the troubled 54-year-old has changed from the “good Christian young man” who left Springfield,
Mo., in his early 20s.
In an exclusive interview with The National ENQUIRER, Lori Duggan-Heisler, Brad’s former confidant and STILL a close family friend, slammed: “I think Hollywood got its claws into him — he CAN’T be happy now.”
Lori dished on how Brad’s family was “disappointed” with him going to Los
Angeles — not to mention the revelation that he had a drinking problem following his 2016 divorce from Angie.
“He seems to have been taken over by bad habits,” said Lori. “I was shocked.” The trouble began when
Brad met Angie, now 43, on the set of their 2005 movie, “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” while
Brad was still married to Jen, now 49 and recently single. After blindsiding the “Friends” beauty, the toxic twosome raised six children together: Maddox, 17; Pax,
14; Zahara, 13; Shiloh, 12; and 10-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. And Lori felt Brad was pressured into marrying their mother!
“I think he only married
Angelina because it’s what their children wanted. He probably knew in his heart that he married her for the wrong reasons,” Lori dished. “As a parent you do things for your children that you think are going to make them happy, and it has nothing to do with honesty.”
It was after Brad took up with Angie — who, according to Lori, had a “bizarre” relationship with ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton — that
Lori noticed he turned his back on religion, much to the upset of his God-fearing parents!
However, she noted, “It’s my understanding that over the years his family became more open-minded about [their relationship] because of their grandchildren, [thinking]: ‘This is our son, and we love him.’ ” Still, Lori is angry at how Angie has seemingly used their kids to her advantage in their ongoing divorce and custody war, adding:
“It breaks my heart. Those kids are all over the world, their schooling is tutored — there’s nothing normal about their childhoods.”
But, unlike monster mom Angie, “Jennifer was normal,” Lori recalled. “And around here anything but normal ISN’T good.
“Wouldn’t it be great if he was with Jen today? They seemed to be more likeminded. She’s just so cute, and they seemed to be going down the same path.”
