VETS suf­fer­ing from post-trau­matic stress disor­der and fright­en­ing flash­backs can be helped by tran­scen­den­tal med­i­ta­tion, ac­cord­ing to a study con­ducted by the U.S. De­part­ment of Vet­er­ans Af­fairs. Re­searchers have found that nearly 66 per­cent of former sol­diers with PTSD saw im­prove­ment in symp­toms af­ter 90 days of med­i­ta­tion.

The prac­tice in­volves re­peat­ing a mantra that calms the mind and helps ease vet­er­ans’ painful mem­o­ries.
