OVER­WEIGHT chil­dren are less likely to per­form well at school. Obese kids tend to not fin­ish their home­work and are not as en­gaged in their school­work, ac­cord­ing to a new Brown Univer­sity study. The ex­tra weight can also af­fect their at­ti­tudes and abil­ity to de­velop healthy re­la­tion­ships. Re­searchers have called on schools and health­care providers to tar­get obe­sity as an is­sue to im­prove chil­dren’s be­hav­iors and well-be­ing.
