OVERWEIGHT children are less likely to perform well at school. Obese kids tend to not finish their homework and are not as engaged in their schoolwork, according to a new Brown University study. The extra weight can also affect their attitudes and ability to develop healthy relationships. Researchers have called on schools and healthcare providers to target obesity as an issue to improve children’s behaviors and well-being.
