SCIENTOLOGY LEADER LUSTING FOR GARNER!
FRIENDS FEAR SHE'S VULNERABLE TO RECRUITERS
SCIENTOLOGY bigwigs are desperate to recruit Jennifer Garner — because church leader David Miscavige is obsessed with the brunette beauty! The A-lister first caught the sci-fi cult leader’s eye when she starred in TV’s “Alias” in the early 2000s. One of Miscavige’s former assistants, recent Scientology defector Valerie Haney, said he became infatuated with Jen and watched her show “all the time” — planting the seeds of his plot to seduce her into the church! Insiders dished Miscavige was the driving force behind then-single Tom Cruise asking Jen for a date in 2004, with the “Top Gun” star leaving a creepy message on her answering machine asking her if she “knew what freedom was.” The cryptic comment, sources claimed, was an attempt to lure her into attending one of the church’s notorious “girlfriend auditions” — which is how some said he met third wife Katie Holmes. Miscavige’s campaign came to light as Jen appeared in the new sitcom “Camping,” alongside hardcore Scientology stalwart Juliette Lewis, who has praised the cult as a “self-help movement.”
Sources also snitched Jen was seeing a therapist last summer who used “Scientology-like techniques” — a potential stealth introduction to the religion. “Friends have warned her to be careful because their recruitment techniques could be so subtle she won’t realize what’s going on until it’s too late!” explained an insider.
“Jen has been through a lot and is in the right frame of mind that the church could see her as vulnerable and a prime target.” Newly single Jen and recovering boozer Ben Affleck finally settled their long-simmering divorce in October, and the mom of three has a brand-new beau in businessman John Miller.
“She’s finally in a good place, so the last thing her pals want is for her to get in over her head with an organization like Scientology!”
