MARATHON CHEATER TOOK THE LAST STEP – SUICIDE

-

DR. FRANK MEZA literally ran himself into the grave!

Just four months after the beloved 70-year-old former high school track coach was shockingly disqualified from the Los Angeles Marathon for taking shortcuts — he was found floating facedown in the filthy Los Angeles River.

Now the death has been ruled a suicide!

“He obviously couldn’t live with the humiliation,” said one insider in the track community that crucified the dead doc for his unforgivable offense.

“The one thing people won’t tolerate in running is cheating,” the fellow former coach revealed. Meza’s fantastic time of 2 hours, 53 minutes and 10 seconds — more than an hour and 15 minutes faster than any in his age group — was met with universal suspicion. When video revealed he had left the course and come back at a different point, he was disqualified. His family said he was under enormous stress afterward.

“He was targeted, bullied, and we tried to defend him the best we could,” his daughter, Lorena Meza, said.

“He was devastated.”

“I didn’t cut the course,” Meza cried days before he tragically took his own life.
