2013, according to insiders. Former WWE wrestler Stacy, 39, married businessman Jared Pobre in March 2014 and gave birth to daughter Ava the following August.
But sources have been quick to point out the cutie bears an uncanny resemblance to George’s twin son, two-yearold Alexander!
Tensions between the Clooneys — who wed in September 2014 — reportedly reached a boiling point after an anonymous letter arrived at their villa in Lake Como, Italy, according to sources.
“The talk is this letter stated quite clearly George is the daddy of Stacy’s daughter and he needs to take a DNA test to clear the matter up once and for all,” divulged an insider. “Amal was in shock at first, but once the enormity of the allegations set in, she went on the warpath — big-time.
“I’m told it led to the mother of all showdowns between her and George, and after a long and fiery fight she stormed off,” packing her bags and taking the twins.
As The ENQUIRER has reported, the power duo’s marriage has teetered on a knife’s edge for months after a series of furious blowouts about their future.
The “Ocean’s Eleven” hunk has sparked his wife’s wrath for being immature and irresponsible, while he’s frustrated over international human rights attorney Amal’s rigid and uptight lifestyle, according to insiders.
But the pair patched up their differences and their union appeared to be on an even keel — until now.
“Amal and George have been dealing with some major problems these past few months, but this could well be the straw that breaks the camel’s back,” noted the insider.
“Everyone thought they’d turned the corner, and it’s true things had been looking up until these claims surfaced. “But this is an utter nightmare from Amal’s point of view, not least because it’s come out of nowhere.
“George is swearing up and down it’s nonsense, and that the timing isn’t possible because he didn’t sleep with Stacy between the time they officially split and when he and Amal started dating.
“But as far as Amal is concerned, there’s no smoke without fire and she wants him to address this matter formally. If George needs to submit to a DNA test, so be it. “Amal has got to be heartbroken over the possibility that George is caught up in something so sordid, especially if he didn’t tell her for all these years and hid this secret from her.” Sources said George has maintained a cordial relationship with Stacy — who placed third in the second season of “Dancing with the Stars” — since their two-year romance ended, and that’s only fueled Amal’s paranoia.
“George admits to being in touch with Stacy from time to time, but he swears up and down it’s totally platonic,” added the insider.
“Still, try telling that to Amal, who’s sick to death of enduring one roller-coaster ride after another.
“It seems they’re destined for a lifetime of drama. No wonder people are starting to think she’ll eventually walk out on George for good!”
