NBC NEWS PROBED OVER SEX SCANDALS
INVESTIGATION SPURRED BY LAUER FIRING
NBC News has been thrown into turmoil — as allegations of sexual misconduct and potential cover-ups by network bigwigs are reportedly under investigation!
More than a dozen women, including former “Today” host Megyn Kelly, provided testimony in a probe conducted by the New
York Attorney General, sources said. Investigators for the New York attorney general’s civil division also interviewed Addie Zinone, who later claimed to have had an affair with ousted “Today” host Matt Lauer, and former NBC News anchor Linda Vester, who’s accused Tom Brokaw of misconduct.
Zinone said she discussed “the culture at NBC News and my experience as a young production assistant, including my interactions with Matt Lauer in the newsroom.”
NBC News Chief Andrew Lack and former "Hardball" host Chris Matthews were among multiple high-profile names whose behavior was under scrutiny, sources said. Reports of the investigation came one day after the surprise announcement that Lack was no longer the chairman of the network.
Lauer, who was axed over sexual assault claims in 2017, is also reportedly a target of the probe. Lauer has denied any wrongdoing and NBC brass have repeatedly said they never cover up any complaints. Lack has also denied accusations he once had a fling with a female subordinate. However, Matthews confessed he made inappropriate comments to a female TV guest.
