IN AN astonishing breakthrough, scientists managed to grow tiny livers from human skin cells and transplant them successfully into rats! This opens up a whole new world of how to repair diseased and damaged organs, according to a paper published in Cell Reports. “The long-term goal is to create organs that can replace organ donation, but in the near future, I see this as a bridge to transplant,” said senior author Dr. Alejandro Soto-Gutiérrez in a press release.
