SUPER BOWL BEN: MY PORN ADDICTION
NFL superstar Ben Roethlisberger was an alcohol addict — and a porn fiend!
“I’ve been addicted to alcohol. I’ve been addicted to pornography,” the recordshattering Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, a.k.a. “Big Ben,” recently confessed.
“People don’t realize all the time that us athletes, we’re human,” he said. “We sin like everybody else. We get addicted to things. I think sometimes we get put on this pedestal where we can’t make mistakes.”
Ben, 38, a devout Christian
who’s been married to wife Ashley Harlan for nearly nine years and has three young children, admitted that because of his shameful vices, he’s “not the best husband, not the best father, not the best Christian I can be.”
In 2010, the two-time
Super Bowl champion was suspended for six games of the season after a 20-year-old college student accused him of sexually assaulting her in a Georgia nightclub. He denied the allegation and wasn’t arrested or charged, but was ordered to undergo a comprehensive behavioral evaluation.
“I’m trying to be a better Christian,” Ben has said, adding that he was able to mend his sinful ways “because of the grace of God and him saying, ‘Listen, you’re good enough for me the way you are. You don’t have to be perfect.’ ”
Roethlisberger said Super Bowl–winning quarterbacks are human, too
