HERE’S another thing you can do to live longer — do volunteer work! New research published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine has found that volunteering around two hours a week slashed death rates among the elderly AND led to a more physically active lifestyle and a happier outlook. “Humans are social creatures by nature,” explained behavioral scientist and lead investigator Eric Kim. “Perhaps this is why our minds and bodies are rewarded when we give to others.”
