POP queen Madonna’s 1985 marriage to Sean Penn became a roller coaster of love and violence. In 1987, Sean, now 59, allegedly hit the Material Girl, now 61, across the head with a baseball bat. She refused to press charges, and things got uglier in December 1988. According to a police report, Sean bound Madonna to a chair with heavy twine and allegedly “smacked and roughed her up” before leaving for hours to buy booze, then continued to terrorize her when he returned. She finally escaped — but begged felony assault charges be dropped. He eventually pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor.
