LARGER-THAN-LIFE singer Lizzo’s “secret” brother desperately wants to end a family feud with the “Truth Hurts” hitmaker!
The Grammy winner,
32, hasn’t seen her half brother, Brandon Johnson, in over a decade — but he claims their father’s dying wish was to bring the siblings together.
“It’s bothered me since I lost my dad.
Let’s all communicate,” said Brandon.
“I don’t want any drama or anyone to think I want anything. I would just want Lizzo to know I hurt from it all and I’m not happy how it went down.”
As The National ENQUIRER revealed, Lizzo’s late father, Michael Jefferson, was a deadbeat dad.
According to court documents in Wayne County, Mich., Michael was ordered to pay past child support for
Brandon, now 36, and Lizzo’s half sister, Tyanna
Johnson, 45, stemming from cases in the
1980s.
As The
ENQUIRER reported,
Michael was arrested in
2004 for failing to pay. He was released within days.
But three years later, he was busted again and spent four months behind bars for forfeiting his bond.
When he died on
March 17, 2009,
Lizzo called it the “worst day of my life.”
The “Juice” singer — whose real name is Melissa Jefferson — remains close with her mother,
Shari, and full siblings Vanessa and Mikey.
But Brandon claims he rarely saw Lizzo, who did not respond to The ENQUIRER’s request for comment, because their father had an affair with his mother.
“We didn’t stay in contact because Lizzo’s mom and my mom had a big issue and he tried to keep us apart,” he said.
“But what’s in the past is past. Whatever our parents went through is on them, not us.”
The last time Brandon saw Lizzo was at their father’s funeral. He revealed that before he passed, their dad wanted to mend fences. “I had a few conversations with him and he regretted it all. I believe that if he could take it back, he would,” said Brandon.
“I think he was living with guilt for a long time. By us coming together now it would probably help him rest in peace.”
