STILL reeling from her son Benjamin’s suicide, Lisa Marie Presley has been slammed with another devastating blow — her ex-husband Michael Lockwood wants to take their daughters away from her! In bombshell legal documents, Michael branded Elvis’ troubled only child an unfit mother in danger of relapsing and demanded she be stripped of primary custody of 11-year-old twins Harper and Finley!
“Lisa’s just lost her son in the most tragic way and now, at her weakest, most vulnerable time, her ex is on the attack!” a source close to Lisa Marie, 52, told The National ENQUIRER.
“She’s spent the past two years struggling to keep herself and her family stable for the sake of all her kids. She’s tried to live a quiet life and stay sober.”
Lisa Marie — who’s admitted to bouncing in and out of rehab while battling addictions to drugs — and fourth hubby Michael, 59, have been locked in a toxic divorce and custody battle since they split in 2016 after ten years of marriage. In papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on July 23, Michael — who has supervised visitation of their twins — asked the court to strip Lisa Marie of primary custody, claiming “new and significant concern” over her potentially relapsing. He argued custody should be changed to give him control at least half of the time — but he also asked for more. He claimed the twins were at greater risk in Lisa Marie’s home, where 27-year-old Benjamin shot himself to death on July 12. According to his legal filing: “There was at least one gun on the premises of her home at the time of her son’s suicide and it is unclear where the gun was kept or whether Finley and/ or Harper might have access to this gun or others.
“Thus, there is a significantly higher risk to the safety of the children, which would ordinarily justify 100% physical custody to me at this time in such circumstances.”
Citing Benjamin’s tragic
suicide, his filing added: “With all due sympathy and respect, this creates a new and unaddressed twofold problem: the safety of the children and the greater likelihood of [Lisa Marie] to relapse into drug and alcohol dependency.”
Lisa Marie claims she is now three years sober, but Michael’s filing argued she should be required to be “tested randomly for drugs and alcohol until the children reach the age of majority at Petitioner’s expense.” Michael — who has no lawyer and wrote his legal argument himself — said he’d also submit to voluntary drug testing.
He also claimed that while he earned $2,000 a month in recent years, Lisa received a monthly
$190,000 allowance from Elvis’ estate.
The couple’s next hearing was set for this month. “Michael feels scorned!” said an insider.
“This legal battle has cost him every penny, but in many ways, it’s a situation of Lisa’s making. She cut him off and went to all-out war with him.
“Michael has nothing left and has resorted to low blows, making this bombshell filing and doing it publicly instead of under seal while Lisa is trying to grieve.”
