Reality washouts hurl abuse claims in family tug of war
REALITY show trainwrecks Kate and Jon Gosselin have renewed their toxic battle, sources said, as the bickering exes from “Jon & Kate Plus 8” engage in an ugly war of words over child abuse charges!
Jon, 43, was briefly on the hot seat after Pennsylvania’s Berks County Child & Youth Services (CYS) announced an investigation into 16-yearold son Collin’s claims that his father assaulted him in September.
Collin launched the shocking accusation in a now-deleted Instagram post.
“Yesterday he beat me up and thought nothing of it, he punched me in the face and gave me a swollen nose and I started bleeding,” Collin wrote. “He then continued to kick me in the ribs after I was on the floor.”
Afterward, Kate, 45, raged, she was “not going to sit idly by while my child … is assaulted by anyone, let alone their own father!”
Jon vehemently denied his son’s allegations. Both police and CYS investigated, and the matter was dropped — with Jon explaining his son is dealing with mental health issues and had filed a false report.
“Jon has never abused Collin. No charges have been filed against him, and there’s no ongoing CYS investigation,” Jon’s rep insisted. “Kate’s statements are libelous and if her false accusations of abuse continue, legal action will be taken.”
Berks County District Attorney John T. Adams confirmed there were “no charges or citations filed.”
Ironically, Collin also accused Kate of being “abusive to me” in a 2017 letter. They have been estranged since 2015, when Kate sent him to a special needs residential facility, where he lived for more than two years.
Jon secured custody of Collin in 2018, and he now lives with his father and sister Hannah, 16.
Meanwhile, Kate has primary custody of the rest of the couple’s sextuplets, Alexis, Aaden, Joel and Leah. The exes, who divorced in 2009, are also parents to twins Cara and Mady, 19. “I really didn’t want to have to come out and talk about this for Collin’s sake, but when Kate is in the media attacking me, calling me a child abuser, I have to defend myself,” Jon said.
“I love my son, and I would never hurt him.”
