JULIA DUFFY’S SECRET PAIN OVER ONLY SON’S SUICIDE

-

DESIGNING WOMEN” star Julia Duffy, 69, has been keeping close a tragic heartache for more than a year — her only son committed suicide. Actor and animator Daniel May “Danny” Lacy, 29, plunged to his death off the Cold Spring Canyon Bridge outside Santa Barbara, Calif., on April 5, 2019, after years of suffering from mental health issues, according to sources. “He was a very talented artist and actor, but he’d struggled with mood swings and depression issues for quite some time,” said a source close to the family.

Danny was Julia’s son with husband Jerry Lacy, 84, who played Humphrey Bogart in Woody Allen’s “Play It Again, Sam,” and starred for many years on the soap “The Young and the Restless.” Their talented son appeared in several television movies, including 2015’s

“A Christmas Reunion” with Denise Richards. He wrote, directed and did voice-over work on cartoon series, and he also wrote the children’s book “At Least You’re Not These Monsters.” “Julia took his death very hard!” the source spilled. “She didn’t want to broadcast the way he died because she thought it was so horrible.

“There was a darkness and despair he just could never shake.”

Julia did not respond to a request for comment.
