FISHY TUNA!

-

TWO California women are raising a stink about Subway’s tuna sandwiches, claiming there’s something fishy about the food — and now they’re suing the chain for $5 million for fraud!

According to the suit, Alameda County residents Karen Dhanowa and Nilima Amin said they ordered tuna subs from a Subway store, but insisted what they received “has no scintilla of tuna at all” — and now they’re demanding a whole lotta bread for the alleged bait and switch!

The court documents charge Subway’s so-called tuna is “made from a mixture of various concoctions … [that] have been blended together by defendants to imitate the appearance of tuna.”

Alex Brown, the attorney for the two women, said: “We are conducting tests to figure out what it is. The lab tests thus far have only told us what it isn’t.”

However, a Subway spokesperson told The

National ENQUIRER the lawsuit is full of baloney — and insisted the fish meat served in their stores is “100 percent cooked tuna.”

“There is no basis in law or fact for the plaintiffs’ claims,” said company rep Maggie Truax in an emailed statement.

“This lawsuit is part of a trend in which the named plaintiffs’ attorneys have been targeting the food industry in an effort to make a name for themselves,” she added.

But the suit is not the first time Subway’s ingredients have been called into question.

In 2020, Ireland’s Supreme Court ruled the fast-food chain’s freshly baked bread could not be defined as bread — because it contained too much sugar!
