He feels like a fish out of water among Meghan’s Hollywood friends. They had tearful fights about his family and leaving Britain, which drove a wedge between them. “The miscarriage they suffered last summer sent Harry into a tailspin and I believe their marriage was teetering on the brink.”
But former “Suits” star Meghan, 39, begged Harry,
36, not to do anything drastic, added the source.
“I’m told she urged him to think about their son, Archie, who Harry adores, and promised she’d have another child ASAP,” spilled the source.
“Meghan said that would give their marriage a new start and also help melt their icy rift with Queen Elizabeth, which got worse after they quit their royal duties last year.
“She used the new baby promise as a cunning ploy to save her marriage!”
But the Duchess of Sussex was also plotting to use her pregnancy to settle old scores with her royal in-laws, a highlevel palace insider claimed. “Hours after the baby news, it was announced Meghan was sitting down for a shocking no-holds-barred interview on American TV, telling all about her ‘perfect’ marriage and her troubled life as a royal,” said the insider. “The queen and the senior
royals were blindsided and outraged!
“The couple abandoned their royal duties and fled to America supposedly seeking privacy, but here they were attracting global attention with a nuclear interview exposing their family secrets. The entire royal family is braced for disastrous consequences.”
Meghan and her husband’s decision to spill their guts unfolded as Harry’s grandfather, Prince Philip,
99, was fighting for his life in a London hospital, which just rubbed salt in the royal wound, the insider said.
“The queen faced her worst nightmare — the loss of her husband of 73 years. The last thing she needed was another bombshell from the Sussexes,” dished the source. “They seem hellbent on causing the monarchy pain and embarrassment.
“Sadly, their explosive TV interview took away Her Majesty’s joy of having another great-grandchild — and makes a family reconciliation almost impossible. The new baby may never meet his relatives in Britain.”
The Sussexes announced their 21-month-old son, Archie, was getting a sibling on Feb. 14 — 37 years to the day Princess Diana’s pregnancy with Harry was revealed, sources said.
In a black-and-white photograph, Meghan’s baby bump is very prominent as she lays with her head in Harry’s lap and they gaze adoringly at each other.
“It’s clear she’s further along in the pregnancy than people may realize,” dished another source. “It’s natural they’d wait more than the usual three months before making the announcement.
“But Meghan apparently told close friends they began trying for another baby just a few weeks after she miscarried last July — and were quickly successful.
“She believed it was the best way to get over their grief — and she knew another baby would keep them together.” Meghan revealed her heartbreaking miscarriage in a dramatic account last November, writing: “I felt a sharp cramp. I knew as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second.” “Sympathy flowed in for Meghan and Harry — but they knew then they were pregnant again!” dished the source. “Our bet is on baby Sussex number two arriving as early as June!”
That means Harry is facing a new confrontation with the royals, said the insider.
He was expected to travel to the U.K. for family celebrations including the Trooping the Colour on June 12 for the queen’s official 95th birthday. He was also set to attend the dedication of Princess Diana’s statue at Kensington Palace on July 1, which would have been her 60th birthday.
“The big question is: Will he be invited? And with Meghan’s pregnancy, will he even go?” asked the palace insider. “Meghan has already announced she will not attend.”
Since the couple ditched royal duties last March, they’ve bought a $14 million Santa Barbara mansion and Meghan’s masterminded megabucks deals with Netflix and Spotify to make them rich. “She’s fiercely opposed to ever returning to Britain, but she also knows she’s only in the spotlight because she’s a real-life royal,” said the insider.
“Duchess Meghan is the role of her lifetime — and she’s vowed to give an Oscarworthy performance to keep her marriage intact!”
