TV SHARK BARBARA GETS SCANDAL SORTED!
SHARK TANK” star Barbara Corcoran has stepped up to get a tenant in one of her buildings back on his feet!
The real estate guru and building co-owner Alex Rodriguez came under fire after Ryo Nagaoka’s possessions were reportedly tossed while he was hospitalized with COVID-19.
“I was in shock. I couldn’t believe it,” Ryo, 60, said after he came home to find only his piano and pet tortoise in his cleaned-out crib.
The trouble started last fall when residents saw Ryo looking seriously ill and heard him coughing. Neighbors called an ambulance on Oct. 4, but he refused to go.
In January, the super found Ryo unconscious in his apartment and he was rushed to the hospital.
When residents saw men clearing out his apartment, most assumed he’d died.
So they were stunned and furious when Ryo, an unemployed restaurant worker, returned March 24 to find the locks changed and his apartment cleared out. But Barbara, 72, claimed the building’s super broke down Ryo’s door after hearing him crying for help and getting his permission.
Emptying Ryo’s apartment was “necessary” since it had become a “health hazard” and a “biocleaning crew” scrubbed it, she said. Ryo was given keys when he returned, and the super fed his tortoise, Barbara added.
She’s donated $12,000 to a GoFundMe page for him, while A-Rod has seemingly not yet contributed anything. He did not respond to a request for comment.
Barbara also said the building’s management company has “renovated” Ryo’s apartment.
“I’m grateful that Mr. Nagaoka’s neighbors made his unfortunate situation public and that we have been able to help,” she added.
