LOSE WEIGHT, STAY SHARP!
SHED pounds — and remember more! That’s the finding of new research at Kings College London that found intermittent fasting (IF) helped improve the long-term memory retention of lab mice. What’s more, IF also fostered the growth of new adult nerve cells in the mice’s brains. Those cells, the so-called “longevity gene,” are essential when it comes to memory functioning and formation. Study authors hope their findings will translate
into similar memory benefits for humans.
