CAT SOARS TO SAFETY!
Flees fire with 5-story free fall
PROVING black cats are lucky after all, one of them leaped from the fifth floor of a burning building, landed unharmed on all fours, and pranced off!
In a widely viewed video of Chicago firemen putting out a blaze, you can see the kitty calculate her odds, make the astonishing leap — with a meow that can be heard above the gasps of the shocked crowd — and stick her landing on a patch of grass!
After a little hop, she marched off — and the fire department has confirmed the flying fuzz-face is just fine.
“It went under my car and hid until she felt better after a couple of minutes and came out and tried to scale the wall to get back in,” said fire department spokesperson Larry Langford.
There were no injuries in the Englewood blaze — which was confined to one unit — and Langford said they were still searching for the owner of the plucky puss.
