HEALTH FEARS AS ARKIN FADES AWAY FROM H’WOOD
HOLLYWOOD veteran Alan Arkin has dropped out of sight since bailing on the third and final season of “The Kominsky Method” last year, and now friends are fearing for the wellbeing of the Oscar-winning actor, sources snitched. “Alan told pals the strain of doing a series — especially with the added anxiety of the coronavirus pandemic — had become too much for him,” an insider spilled. The “Little Miss Sunshine” actor, 87, had even copped to deliberately pumping the brakes on his own career! “The less work I get, the better my health. The stress in the marketplace is enormous, and my system has a fast reaction. I can’t deal with stress anymore,” Alan confessed. The “Catch-22” star’s successful Tinseltown stint has spanned more than 55 years. But sources claimed he worried shooting another season of the hit Netflix comedy might take too much of a toll on him! According to the insider, “Alan just said enough is enough. He didn’t want to destroy his health.” “Kominsky” co-star Michael Douglas, 76, admitted he was stunned by his pal’s departure from the show, which was shot in L.A.
“I don’t know the exact full story, but it’s tough, you know,” Michael said.
Insiders dished since his shocking announcement, the aging “Argo” actor has been huddling at his Santa Fe, N.M., home with Suzanne Newlander, 72, his wife of 25 years. “Alan wants to make sure he spends his final days healthy and happy and with the woman he loves,” a source squealed.
