Latest wife socks him with surprise divorce
HOTHEAD Sean Penn was punched in the gut when third wife Leila George smacked him with divorce papers after just over a year of marriage, sources said.
The Aussie actress, 29, has no intention of changing her mind, according to insiders, leaving 61-year-old Sean reeling.
“Sean is blaming himself for his marriage failing and he’s pretty down about it,” spilled an insider.
“A part of him refuses to believe it’s over. He’s still wearing his wedding ring, but there’s fat chance Leila will come back to him.
“Truth is, he took on all these projects and movies and didn’t have much time for Leila.
“Sean wasn’t paying attention to what was happening at home or what Leila was doing. She was miserable and felt neglected. “He gets so passionate about his work and his charities, and Leila got fed up waiting for him to call.
“She didn’t know what Sean was doing half the time. He didn’t think he had to check in like that.”
The soon-to-be exes dated for four years before quietly tying the knot on July 30, 2020.

Order: Criminal Intent” alum Vincent D’Onofrio and Aussie actress Greta Scacchi, filed for divorce on Oct. 15.
“Her leaving Sean wasn’t out of the blue. Things changed right after they got married,” tattled a source.
“That’s when Sean should’ve stepped up and lavished her with lots of love and attention, but he didn’t.”
Sources claimed Leila desperately wanted a baby and gave Sean — an Oscar winner for 2004’s “Mystic River” and 2009’s “Milk” — an ultimatum.
“She put her foot down because they’d discussed kids early in their relationship and he seemed open to it,” dished the insider.
“It was important to Leila to start a family with Sean, but he was done with all that.”
Sean shares two adult children, 30-year-old daughter Dylan, and 28-year-old son Hopper, with ex-wife Robin Wright. He was also married to Madonna from 1985 to
1989.
“Sean felt his two grown kids were enough. He just wanted to work and be a couple,” added an insider. “Now with Leila gone, he’s alone and feeling sad.”
