BROLIN STILL BROILING OVER LOSING BOND!

-

JEALOUS James Brolin has been holding a grudge against the late Roger Moore for 40 years for preventing him from playing superspy James Bond, sources snitched.

The “Marcus Welby, M.D.” actor claimed he was tapped to succeed Moore when the dashing Brit decided to ditch his 007 role after 1981’s “For Your Eyes Only.”

“I had the job,” insisted James, now 81. “Roger Moore said he wasn’t gonna do any more.”

The “Westworld” hunk said he was even coached on several secret agent moves — then producers clammed up! James recalled hearing “through someone else” that the suave star was staying put for 1983’s critically panned “Octopussy.”

Roger, who died from cancer at age 89 in 2017, finally said so long to Bond after “A View to a Kill” in 1985 — but by then James was in the middle of his five-season run on ABC’s “Hotel.”

Insiders said bristling Brolin is still haunted by the loss of what he calls the

“Bond thing” and wonders if it could have super-charged his career. A source dished: “It’s still a raw nerve with James after all these years. He never forgave Roger for not standing aside and at least giving him a chance.”
