Hard-liners horrified JFK granddaughter’s marrying California cutie
PRESIDENT John F. Kennedy’s granddaughter is set to marry a woman — and the impending nuptials have bitterly divided the staunchly Catholic Kennedy family!
In a world exclusive, The National ENQUIRER can reveal the oldest daughter of Camelot kid Caroline Kennedy, 33-year-old Rose Kennedy Schlossberg, is engaged to marry restaurateur Rory McAuliffe, 30.
The ENQUIRER recently snapped pictures of Rose with her intended at the preopening of her restaurant Rory’s Place, held at a friend’s home in Ojai, Calif.
A source in Ojai, the wellheeled enclave near Santa Barbara where Rose and Rory live, told The ENQUIRER: “For the past eight years, Rose has quietly been in a relationship with Rory.
“Rose’s mom, Caroline, loves Rory. She’s already like part of the family and has been for years.
“Caroline introduced them to Michelle Obama when she was first lady and Michelle will be invited to the wedding along with her husband, Barack! “Rose and Rory are both out as lesbians to their friends and family but they’re very private. Rose recently deleted her Instagram and Facebook accounts.”
Brunette Rose is the mirror image of her maternal grandmother, former First
Lady Jackie Kennedy, and was named after the family matriarch, her greatgrandmother Rose Kennedy. An aspiring actress and freelance videographer and photographer, Rose has two younger siblings, Tatiana, 31, and John, 28.

Rory, the Kennedy heiress was in a five-year relationship with Harvard classmate
Sarah Wick, whose parents have produced a number of Hollywood blockbusters, including the “Divergent” trilogy, according to the source.
Rory grew up in Santa Monica and got interested in cooking while spending time in the family’s restaurant and bakery in the 1990s. She met Rose while working as a caterer in Hyannis Port, Mass., near the Kennedy compound. But the couple’s upcoming gay wedding has bitterly divided the Kennedys, with some vowing to boycott the same-sex nuptials, which are forbidden by the Catholic church.
Other family members believe Jackie Kennedy’s favorite granddaughter deserves to wed the woman she loves.
“Ironically, one of JFK’s best friends, Lem Billings, was homosexual,” pointed out a source close to the Kennedy family.
“The family has also had a number of close gay and lesbian friends over the years, but this is different.
“The Vatican has made it clear that the church will not bless same-sex marriages! So, some of the older uberCatholic family members will
stay away from the service. “Younger family members are furious, saying it’s Rose’s life and her late grandma Jackie and beloved uncle JFK Jr. would approve.
“This has ripped the clubby clan in two!”
Adding to the drama, Rose’s beloved grandmother once made catty comments about lesbians!
In a taped interview released by daughter Caroline, then 34-year-old Jackie sneered at Madame Nhu, the first lady of South Vietnam, and Clare Boothe Luce, a conservative U.S. congresswoman, sniping: “I wouldn’t be surprised if they were lesbians.”
With the family at odds, sources are concerned for both Rose and her mother.
After her beloved uncle, John F. Kennedy Jr., died in 1999, Rose fell into a six-month depression, revealed a source. “John had been like a father to Rose,” recalled a Kennedy family member.
“She barely spoke to anyone and stopped eating for six months after he died. She must have lost 30 pounds.” As The ENQUIRER reported, 63-year-old Caroline appeared haggard and on the verge of a breakdown after spending three years in Japan as U.S. ambassador away from her children and husband, Edwin Schlossberg.
“Friends and loved ones worry the family rift over the wedding could send Rose — and Caroline — reeling again!” added an insider.
