SPACE BORES!

Shatner & Stewart’s intergalactic feud

-

ATTENTION hog William Shatner is eating up the praise he’s received for being the oldest man blasted into space, but stuffy “Star Trek” rival Patrick Stewart is telling anyone who’ll listen the blubbery blowhard is overacting — as usual, sources snitched.

“Patrick thinks it’s utterly ridiculous Bill’s going on and on about space and the whole experience that lasted three minutes,” spilled an insider.

On Oct. 13, Shatner, 90, and a skeleton crew cruised past the edge of Earth’s atmosphere in Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket before safely returning to Texas.

Afterward, Shatner, who played “Star Trek” Capt.

James T. Kirk, gushed, “Everybody in the world needs to do this!”

But as The National ENQUIRER reported, sources warned the aftereffects of the mission might make it the final frontier for astronomically large Shatner, who’s 250 pounds — making him 41 pounds heavier than the U.S. government’s weight limit for NASA astronauts and the fattest man to rocket into outer space!

Meanwhile, sources dished svelte Stewart, 81, who starred as Capt. Jean-Luc Picard on “Star Trek: The Next Generation” from 1987 to 1994 and is currently reprising his role in “Star Trek: Picard,” is jealous he didn’t get an outer space invite!

“He thinks he should’ve been the one to go, since his show lasted a lot longer than ‘Star Trek’ and he has a hit series running now,” tattled the insider.

“Their feud goes way back to the ’90s when they starred in the movie ‘Star Trek: Generations.’ They had one pivotal scene together, and Bill was chiding Patrick the whole time for riding a horse the wrong way.”

According to the tipster, huffy Patrick — who honed his craft as a Shakespearean stage star — has dissed Bill’s acting abilities.

And the insider added, “If you ask Bill, his ‘Star Trek’ is far superior to anything Patrick has done, and he thinks Patrick’s current show isn’t worth watching.” Meanwhile, sources spilled George Takei, who played Hikaru Sulu in the “Star Trek” franchise, added fuel to his and former co-star Shatner’s ongoing grudge by sniping, “He’s boldly going where other people have gone before.” George, 84, sniffed, “He’s a guinea pig … 90 years old is going to show a great deal more on the wear and tear on the human body, so he’ll be a good specimen to study. Although he’s not the fittest specimen of 90 years old, so he’ll be a specimen that’s unfit!”

In response, Shatner set his phaser on stun and sniped, “The only time he gets press is when he talks bad about me.

“He claims 50+ years ago I took away a camera angle that denied him 30 more seconds of prime time TV. I’m giving it back to him now by letting him spew his hatred for the world to see!”
