“There was one phone call between Professor Dershowitz and a family member, during which the generic issue of pardons was touched on,” Ian said. The retired Harvard law professor — who has represented such boldface names as Patty Hearst, Mike Tyson and Leona Helmsley— told The National ENQUIRER he took the call, but denied lobbying the president on Ghislaine’s behalf.
“A member of Maxwell’s family did speak to me about a pardon,” he said. “But they never asked me to do anything. They just asked me advice.” Ghislaine, 60, was found guilty on Dec. 29 of five counts of sex trafficking. She faces up to 65 years behind bars, though her lawyers have for a mistrial
