be coming to an end — and rather abruptly.”

Embattled Ellen — dubbed the “queen of mean” by behind-the-scenes critics — has already seen her nearly 20-year reign of daytime dominance slip through her fingers!

The once adored host, 64, is currently wrapping up the 19th — and final — season of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” amid plummeting ratings, following a 2020 avalanche of accusations she lorded over a toxic work environment.

Now sources say the frazzled funnylady, who’s denied the damaging allegations, is scrambling to find her next professional move.

“The extra sting of ‘GOG’ ending is that this was going to be Ellen’s life raft after her talk show, a way to stay relevant and in front of audiences and fellow celebrities,” spills the insider. The tipster admits the show was impacted by the pandemic, which made it increasingly difficult to recruit popular celebs to participate in segments.

“But there’s no getting around it’s also been hurt by Ellen’s falling star. Everything she touches doesn’t turn to gold anymore, and her 2020 scandal lost her fans,” adds the insider.

“Ellen is still fascinated by game shows and the ways you can pull off one of these formats, but the numbers don’t lie. To sell another one, she’s going to start at the bottom — and go in and pitch just like everybody else.”

As The ENQUIRER previously reported, sources dish the dud’s TV nosedive has one silver lining — it’ll give her time to travel and reconnect with “Arrested Development” alum Portia de Rossi, 49, her wife of 13 years.

“Ellen is very lucky to have Portia because there’s a lot of people in the business speculating that her days at the top of Hollywood are over,” squeals the insider. “It’s looking more and more like she’s going to fade very quickly from view once her show leaves the air this spring.”
