Weary cast & crew complain they’re dead tired & freezing their butts off making hit show
SMASH hit “Outlander” is brimming with drama behind the scenes as exhausted cast and crew are bashing the Starz show as one of the most grueling sweatshops in TV, insiders spill.
According to a source, staffers are “working ridiculous hours, often on freezing locations” in Scotland, and no one gets special treatment — not even headliners Sam Heughan, 41, and Caitriona Balfe, 42. “Everyone is required to knuckle down and get on with it, and quite honestly these guys deserve a medal because the producers flog them like donkeys. It’s all aboveboard, but punishing as hell,” snitches an insider.
With the historical drama series being renewed for a seventh season, some fear the misery will only continue! But tipsters tattle rumblings on the “Outlander” set echo more public protests in Hollywood! The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), which represents 60,000 film and television workers, narrowly averted a nationwide strike-related shutdown last year. The union intervened and struck a deal for better working conditions after members griped about overly long hours on set, no meal breaks and poor health care and benefits!
