SKIRT-CHASING geezer Danny Glover was spotted splashing in the Sardinian surf with a younger woman who’s not his wife — because the Lethal Weapon tough guy has been secretly divorced for months! The Color Purple star, 75, was caught red-handed on June 11 frolicking on the Mediterranean island with bikini-clad beauty Regina “Gina” Murray, 55 — and neither tried to hide their affection for one another! Danny and second wife Eliane Cavalleiro got hitched in 2009, but the Dirty Grandpa actor hadn’t been photographed with the pretty philanthropist, 55, since 2018! But even his closest associates didn’t know they were through! Danny and Gina have been cozy pals for nearly a year, sources dish.
Last July, the Hollywood veteran’s galpal shared an Instagram pic cuddling with Danny on a couch to mark his 75th milestone along with the caption: “Happy Birthday to the Mista!”
The couple was also photographed enjoying each other’s company while sitting courtside at an NBA game in Atlanta in December. Then they walked the red carpet together and joined A-listers at Harry Belafonte’s all-star birthday tribute in New York on March 1! More recently, they were seen holding hands and smooching at the Filming Italy 2022 event in Santa Margherita di Pula shortly before their Sardinian splashfest!
“Danny and Eliane have been done for some time,” an insider confides. “He saw no reason to hide his relationship with Gina.”
It’s unclear when and how he met his realtor girlfriend. While Danny and Eliane had no kids together, he was stepdad to her two adult sons, Ramon and Juan. As recently as December 2020 he gushed about Eliane, calling her “a great wife” and “a great mother.” But sources squeal by that point the two had already begun drifting apart!
“Danny was on his best behavior throughout most of his marriage. But he and Eliane simply grew apart more recently and decided to go their separate ways,” whispers a mole.
But another insider claims a looming five-figure payday for the planned Lethal Weapon 5 with old pal and franchise co-star Mel Gibson has inspired Danny to indulge his wild side and enjoy his golden years!
“He’s looking at a huge payday,” the insider blabs. “His only daughter, Mandisa, is 46 and has her own successful career as a gospel singer. He feels like he’s fulfilled his responsibilities as a good husband and father, and this is HIS time to find happiness with someone new.”
