Tensions grow between Morning Show co-stars
SCREEN sirens Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon may seem like BFFs as they shoot another season of The Morning Show together, but sources say it’s all an act!
“Jen and Reese are sick and tired of each other,” snitches an insider.
The tension between the dueling A-listers apparently dates back to 2000, when Reese was hired to guest-star as the sister of Jen’s character on Friends.
“Reese had just had [her daughter] Ava and breastfed her on the set,” explains the insider. “Jen kind of looked down her nose at it, or at least that’s how Reese felt.
“It was an open secret on the set that they didn’t like each other, but they played up having a special bond because the fans ate it up.”
Nearly 20 years later, the ageless beauties reunited for The Morning Show, but more for their eye-popping $2 million-per-episode salaries than anything else, snitches the spy.
“They joined forces to make a ton of money, and that’s really where the quoteunquote friendship starts and ends,” notes the insider. Although Jen, 53, and Reese, 46, make a point to profess love for each other on social media, Reese strained things in 2019 when she got a little too flirty online with Jen’s ex-hubby Brad Pitt, squeals another spy.
“When Reese saw a picture of Brad looking super-hot, she left a heart-eye emoji and the words ‘Oh dear’ in response,” tattles the tipster. “That was disrespectful to Jen, and it’s not something she’s forgotten.”
While the stars may be tethered together for work, they are said to avoid each other as much as possible off-camera.
“They rarely socialize outside of official showrelated functions, and they both have their own team of producers and helpers orbiting them when they’re filming together,” blabs the source. Perky Reese apparently offended Jen while promoting The Morning
Show last season by telling a gabfest host that she’s a morning person while Jen’s a night owl. As harmless as the statement may sound, the spy says Jen
“didn’t appreciate” it.
“The truth is that the two are polar opposites,” continues the source.
“Jen is laid back while Reese is the definition of a type A personality. And while they are proud of their Morning Show collaboration, they both feel they would have done perfectly well without teaming up, too.
“The most important thing about The Morning Show for Jen is how it established her dramatic acting abilities. She isn’t going to need Reese to do that again, and Reese couldn’t care
less.”
