PELOSI HOPPING MAD AT DUI HUBBY PAUL

-

HOUSE Speaker Nancy Pelosi hasn’t publicly uttered a word in defense of her husband, Paul, who was accused of driving under the influence after getting into a frightening accident! But insiders say the humiliation of his arrest has thrown the couple’s 59-year marriage into crisis. “The last thing that Nancy needed as the country is heading toward critical midterm elections was another embarrassment created by her party-hearty husband!” an insider snitches.

Following Paul’s bust, the powerful Democrat,

82, immediately enlisted renowned political crisis manager Larry Kramer and hired one of San Francisco’s top defense lawyers to handle her hubby’s case. Authorities say the 82-yearold financier was heading home from a Napa County dinner party on May 28 when he tried to make a left-hand turn on a California highway and collided with another vehicle. Paul, who was not with Nancy at the time of the crash, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. What’s more, sources spill he may have knowingly had impaired vision due to having cataract surgery mere days before the smash-up!

The driver of the other vehicle wasn’t charged. Paul was released after posting $5,000 bail and will be arraigned on Aug. 3, but if found guilty of DUI causing injury, he could face jail time!

The accident put a spotlight

— including a crash that left his brother dead when they were teenagers! He was cleared of any responsibility for the fatal wreck.

“Nancy feels this was completely selfish of Paul and is incredulous he would put her in this position at such a critical time in her career,” a source says. “Some people around her are convinced she’s done with him!”
