The Alias alum, 50, was shaken to the core when she learned her hunky ex, 49, exchanged I do’s with J.Lo, 53, late at night on
July 16 in a quickie Las Vegas ceremony, insiders tattle. “Jennifer would never rain on Ben’s parade publicly — least of all at a time like this — and she respects his decisions, but it’s an open secret she doesn’t care for J.Lo and she’s skeptical whether this is the right long-term match,” dishes an insider.
“She’s still processing the news and very shocked and kind of devastated, partly because she didn’t think he’d go through with it, but also because of her feelings toward J.Lo. “Now Jen has to deal with the annoying prospect of a lot more one-onone time with J.Lo, and that’s going to be awkward and uncomfortable!”
As The National ENQUIRER previously revealed, sources insist the two women fake pleasantries whenever they come face to face — but behind closed doors there’s no love lost!
Garner will “swallow her pride and do what’s best for her kids, but conversations with J.Lo will be through gritted teeth,” adds the source.
Bennifer’s surprise nuptials come two months after they announced their engagement and a full 18 years after the Batman beefcake broke the diva’s heart by dumping her at the altar in 2004.
He rebounded by marrying Garner in 2005 and having three kids together: Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10. Meanwhile, this is J.Lo’s fourth trip to the altar. She shares 14-year-old twins Emme and Max with singer Marc Anthony, and was engaged to Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez before it
exploded in April 2021 amid allegations he’d cheated on her with Southern Charm’s Madison LeCroy. A-Rod denies any affair.
Now Garner — who divorced Affleck in 2018 after his skirt-chasing, gambling and boozing ended their 13 stormy years together — is worried Ben’s headed for heartbreak, according to friends.
The ENQUIRER previously reported how Lopez was desperate to tie Ben down and elope with him, fearful he’d repeat his runaway-groom antics and leave her redfaced and empty-handed. “Ben didn’t really have much of a choice in this if he wanted to stay with her,” snipes a source. “She’s now pushing him hard for a follow-up ceremony in
L.A. that’ll be monumentally expensive and fit for Hollywood royalty.
