BLAKE BOOSTS BAD BOY MORGAN

Steers blundering country newbie toward stardom

-

COUNTRY superstar Blake Shelton has taken wild child Morgan Wallen under his wing, treating The Voice alum like his protégé, sources say! Blake, 46, is proud of the way the 29-year-old Don’t Think Jesus singer has overcome some catastrophic blunders to take country music by storm, insiders dish.

“Blake loves this kid so much,” spills an insider. “He sees a lot of himself in Morgan when he was that age and full of beans. He wants to mentor him.”

Morgan shot himself in the foot in 2021 when he got caught on video drunkenly spitting expletives and a racial slur. He did a stint in rehab, but even after that pals feared his boozing and womanizing could torpedo his budding career.

But the insider says Blake sees Morgan as a diamond in the rough who just needs some guidance to become a better artist and human being.

Ironically, Morgan wasn’t even on Blake’s team on The Voice in 2014. Blake calls him the one that “got away,” but now he seems to be making up for lost time.

“They’ve got roots going back to The Voice, when Morgan — who was only 20 years old then — knocked everyone’s socks off, including Blake’s,” says the insider. “Blake has been quietly coaching Morgan from the sidelines for a while, and they’ve become good buds.

“Blake’s even talking about including Morgan on a jam session in Oklahoma later this summer so they can write songs together.”
