Former jewel thief William Steel was sprung from the slammer in 2021 after serving 18 years in prison for a spate of multimillion-dollar heists. But now he’s dishing about his fling with the scandalscarred socialite on A&E’s Inmate to Roommate.
Steel first met Ghislaine — who’s serving a 20-year stint for procuring underage prey for her twisted boss Jeffrey Epstein — in Florida during the ’90s.
He had a wild affair with Ghislaine, 60, and was threatened by late pedophile Epstein, who died in 2019 under sketchy circumstances in a NYC jail while awaiting his own sex trafficking trial.
Steel did his own hard time, but escaped with his life.
“Since I’ve been out, I’ve worked as a victim advocate, and I take my role seriously,” he says. “What happened to young girls at the hands of Epstein and Ghislaine should never take place in our society.”
The docuseries features Steel and other ex-cons living with host families as they strive to reintegrate into society. Steel says after his lengthy sentence — which included four years in solitary confinement— it was “exciting and traumatic” to be thrust into the world amid the pandemic!
