TALK chatterbox Kelly Ripa reveals she and actorhubby Mark Consuelos got hitched on the cheap — in a quickie Vegas wedding that cost just $179.
The New York pair, both 51, who have been married 26 years with three kids, met on the set of the daytime soap All My Children and decided to elope in 1996.
Kelly recalls they had “two consecutive days off from work, both on the same day, and it was like, ‘Let’s go to Vegas and get married and it’ll be fun.’ ”
She says the trip plus wedding cost just $179 and she wore a $199 dress she got on sale five years earlier.
“It was the winter of ’96, in the record books as the most miserable. It was a snowstorm when we left,” recounts Kelly.
“We looked at the weather because we thought about going to
City Hall but that was still cold and miserable, whereas Las Vegas, it was 85 degrees and sunny.” So they figured: “Let’s do that!” And their passion is still red-hot!
