Dueling shows stir up old bitterness
COMPETITIVE Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Aniston are going head to head with the next seasons of their TV shows — And Just Like That and The Morning Show — and it’s reigniting a rivalry stretching back decades, sources say!
“It’s no secret Sarah Jessica and Jennifer are both careerdriven, strong personalities who see each other as rivals,” spills an insider.
“Let’s just say they wouldn’t seek each other out in a crowded room. Jennifer doesn’t think Sarah Jessica is such a big talent, while Sarah Jessica gives the impression Jen isn’t in her league.”
The second season of Parker’s show on HBOMax and the third season of Aniston’s on Apple+ “are on a collision course” when they debut next spring, sources say. “The goal is simple: to be the number one scripted streaming program for middle-aged women in the English-speaking world,” dishes an insider.
“This is literally the same battle for attention they fought almost 20 years ago when Sex and the City and Friends were at their peak — but the stakes are higher now because they’re the bosses of their shows now, in addition to starring in them.”
While the gals’ reps insist there’s no bad blood and talk of a feud is ridiculous, the source says, “They’re both drawn to situations where there’s a clear winner and loser — and this is one of those situations!”
