POP princess Taylor Swift was crushed when she had to pass on headlining the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show — but the ruffled songbird couldn’t shake off her annoyance when the gig went to rival Rihanna, tipsters spill.
Sources exclusively told The National ENQUIRER as the Bad Blood singer, 32, turned down the plum slot because she’d be tied up with recording sessions, ambitious Rihanna, 34, swooped in to snatch it!
“It just broke Taylor’s heart feeling she was too busy to perform. It had been her dream to play the Super Bowl,” a friend dishes.
“It sticks in her craw that Rihanna literally stole the show!” Sources squeal Taylor and the Diamonds diva have long had a contentious relationship. In 2016, the Love Story sweetheart wrote This Is What You Came For under a pseudonym with thenboyfriend Calvin Harris. It was a smash hit for Rihanna, but Scottish producer Harris didn’t initially acknowledge Taylor’s contribution — and claims that’s how his ex wanted it!
But the pal dishes, “Taylor felt Rihanna didn’t stand up for her then.”
Now, the friend squeals, “Taylor fears since she’s turned down the Super Bowl once, she’s never going to get asked again!”
