FRISKY funnyman Chris Redd’s fling with model Christina Evangeline — ex-wife of fellow Saturday Night Live stalwart Kenan Thompson— caused a deep rift among the comedy series’ regulars and played a part in the biggest cast turnover in show history, insiders squeal.
Insiders blab the cast divided into two camps— one behind Chris and the other supporting Kenan— and the tense atmosphere on the set caused EIGHT featured players to take their final bows!
“A lot of the cast members— including Chris — decided it was time to go,” a source explains.
“No one wanted to go through another season like that.”
The longtime SNL twosome had been close buddies for years — and also worked together on the sitcom Kenan— but tipsters tattle Redd’s relationship with Evangeline triggered tension between the men!
“Kenan and Christina were finished, but it’s always very weird when one of your best friends starts dating your ex. Things get very awkward,” the source spills.
Thompson, 44, filed for divorce in June after a decade of marriage and two kids, but insiders dish he and his wife had split in 2021. Meanwhile, a spy confides Redd, 37, and the brunette beauty, 33, started dating at “the beginning of this year.”
According to the source, “Kenan was forced to watch his best friend and the woman who was recently his wife embroiled in a full-blown romance.”
