MEGHAN’S SECRET LIFE ON THE EDGE!

The untold story of Duchess of Sussex’s tragic fight for sanity

-

DUCHESS Meghan’s fairytale marriage to charming Prince Harry has turned into an ongoing nightmare that’s driven her to the brink of suicide and thrown the couple’s lives into total chaos that neither may be able to overcome, sources tell The National ENQUIRER. The biracial beauty’s

fragile mental state has been stressed to the breaking point ever since she became a member of Britain’s stuffy royal family — and she remains deeply scarred behind her tough-as-nails veneer, say sources.

“Meghan has been to hell and back,” confides an insider. “She’s come through the worst of times but is being worn down by having to constantly defend herself against people who hate her guts.”

It’s been more than two years since the renegade royals quit their palace duties and moved to Montecito,

Calif., to build a new life, yet sources say the trauma clearly comes to the surface. “The experiences Meghan had while trying desperately to conform to the palace way of life haunt her to this day,” dishes the insider. “She felt persecuted on all sides and grew depressed and lonely. And when she tried to get help from the palace, they heartlessly refused.

“At one point, she considered taking her own life, but Harry rescued her by picking up the shield and becoming her knight in shining armor.”

Even though they’ve embarked on a new life, the Sussexes can’t seem to escape their past. And Meghan, 41, continues to be widely blamed for the palace’s loss of beloved Harry, 38.

Meghan recently vented on her podcast Archetypes, implying to guests she’d been called things like “crazy, hysterical, nuts, insane, out of [her] mind and completely irrational.”

Although she didn’t say who called her those things, sources are certain it was the royal family. And when she went to her in-laws’ retainers for support, Meghan says no one lifted a finger to help because “it wouldn’t be good for the institution.

“I just didn’t see a solution. I just didn’t want to be alive anymore,” she reveals.

“That was clear and real and frightening and a constant thought.”

Sources say she didn’t act on her suicidal impulses because she didn’t want to cause Harry more pain.

But some experts tell The ENQUIRER Meghan may be exaggerating her role as a helpless victim to garner sympathy.

“There is definitely a possibility she’s using her mental health struggles of the past to turn the tide of resentment against her,” declares mental health expert Dr. Gilda Carle. “Let us not forget, Meghan is an actress. We need to validate how deep and meaningful her thoughts were at the time.”

Beverly Hills forensic psychiatrist Dr. Carole Lieberman is even harsher in her assessment, saying, “It’s incredible to me that anyone would buy Meghan’s crocodile tears. This is obviously a ploy to generate sympathy knowing that her reputation is in tatters.”

Still, if Meghan’s claims are true and she hasn’t gotten the proper therapy, Carle warns, “It is certainly possible that those thoughts could return and, in a worst-case scenario, she may even act on them!” In any case, people close to the Sussexes worry how all of the turmoil is affecting Harry, who’s admittedly struggled with mental issues himself. “He dotes on Meghan and is very codependent on her,” dishes a palace source. “He’s a completely lost soul without her. Everyone has said that.” Despite their seemingly inseparable bond, the source also fears that the lingering trauma and couple’s uncertain future could spell doom for the marriage.

“Harry’s like a fish out of water in California and doesn’t really fit in,” spills the palace spy. “If his own needs aren’t being met, well, it doesn’t bode well for the marriage. “The palace is convinced he’s going to want to come home eventually, and that his relationship with Meghan will end in tears.

“That’s just the reality as far as the palace is concerned. But the bottom line is that they would welcome Harry back, with or without Meghan!”
