JERRY LEE NO LONGER A GREAT BALL OF FIRE

-

ROCK ’N’ ROLL legend Jerry Lee Lewis is still struggling after being socked by a stroke in 2019 — and friends fear the ailing icon may never bounce back, sources dish.

“Jerry’s extremely frail and can’t get around like he used to. It’s a sad thing because here’s a guy who wouldn’t just perform for an audience, he’d knock them out,” spills an insider.

“These days, he just doesn’t have the same get-up-and-go. His recovery has been painfully slow, and he may never be the same again barring a miracle — and a miracle is what he’ll need to get back onstage doing what he loves, which is entertaining his audience.”

The Great Balls of Fire singer, 87, was recently inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. But a bout with ceremony — on doctor’s orders!

But Highwayman hitmaker Kris Kristofferson, 86, traveled from his home in Hawaii to accept the honor on his old pal’s behalf — and drove to Memphis to personally deliver the medallion to the bedridden rocker! “Jerry’s at home resting comfortably, and people are always checking in on him, so he’s never alone,” tattles the tipster. “He’s never missed a moment in the limelight, so he must’ve been crushed not to be able to see his music pals at the ceremony.

“Jerry’s vowing to come back strong, but his body isn’t as strong as his spirit — and that has people fearing the end is near.”
