HUNKY Chicago P.D. actor Jesse Lee Soffer quit the show because he was looking for love in all the wrong places, sources say!

The 38-year-old fan favorite, who has played Detective Jay Halstead since the show’s debut in 2014, left after this season’s third episode — which drew record ratings — but sources say his on-set love affairs kept tripping him up and it was time to find true love anywhere but the squad room. “He was only dating women he worked with, and that can get sticky,” squeals a friend. “He wants to move out of that environmen­t and really concentrat­e on finding Ms. Right and starting a family.

The never-married heartthrob had whirlwind romances with co-stars Sophia Bush and Torrey DeVitto, but insiders reveal that Soffer is putting out an all-points bulletin for love FAR from the show’s set.

“If ever Jesse decides to come back to the show, he wants it to be with a wife and a child waiting for him at home,” the chum adds. “He’s taking time to build a life outside of acting right
