GEORGIE’S SECRET STRUGGLE WITH FLESH-EATING BACTERIA!

-

CHRONICLES of Narnia star Georgie Henley nearly had her arm amputated after a flesheating bacteria “wrought havoc” throughout her body! The former child star — who rose to fame playing Lucy in the fantasy films— says she contracted necrotizing fasciitis at 18 and kept it secret from the world for nearly a decade!

“In order to prevent the amputation of my left hand and arm I received grueling invasive surgery, and later extensive reconstructive surgery, which resulted in a series of skin grafts and scars,” she dishes.

Henley, 27, says she covers the scars by wearing bandages, long sleeves — or even trousers so she can hide her hand in her pocket!

“The industry I am part of often focuses on a very narrow idea of what is deemed aesthetic ‘perfection,’ and I worried that my scars would prevent me from getting work,” she says.
