REMINI ACCUSES SCIENTOLOGY OF RAPE CASE FRAME!
Says church is out to destroy turncoat director
SCIENTOLOGY turncoat Leah Remini testified Paul Haggis was set up by the controversial church at the beleaguered Crash director’s sensational civil sex assault trial!
Speaking via a video link from her Beverly Hills home, the former King of Queens star — who is an avowed enemy of the church — told a New York jury all rape victims deserve justice, “but in this case, it’s absolutely Paul who is the victim here.”
Haggis, 69, claims he’s been set up by vengeful Scientology officials after leaving the church in 2009 and launching a crusade criticizing the organization’s practices.
In the civil lawsuit, publicist Haleigh Breest claims Haggis sexually assaulted her during a 2013 encounter in her Manhattan apartment. Three other unnamed women have also accused Haggis of sexual misconduct. In turn, he claims church officials persuaded them all to ruin him with false accusations.
Acting as a character witness for Haggis, Remini,
52, testified the church had been “heavy on the attack of Paul” and “the purpose of Scientology lawsuits is just to destroy your life.” She claims the church has suspiciously “gone silent” since this case began.
But a statement from Scientology insists the church had “nothing to do” with the allegations against Haggis, adding: “Outrageously, Remini accuses four women she does not know, who have no connection to Scientology whatsoever, of committing perjury.”
