Bear gobbles down baked goods at California café
AHUNGRY bear with a sweet tooth sent panicked customers diving beneath their tables when it lumbered into a café in California in search of a tasty snack!
With photo and video evidence taken by an alert employee — along with a trail of crumbs from the snack-happy beast — the wolfish bear was caught in the act of swiping sweets! The blatant bruin hopped up onto the counter of a Nestle Toll House Café by Chip at Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe and proceeded to stuff his maw with cookies.
Although the café did not stock any bear claws, the beast found plenty of other confections to his liking inside the refrigerated display case.
Police officers finally managed to eject the mangy miscreant from the premises and shoo him away.
Although bears are known for dining on fish and animals that they hunt and kill, they also love baked goods — and another one was recently caught on camera chowing down on cupcakes from a two-yearold’s birthday party in West Hartford, Conn.!
What’s more, the owners of the Dolci Momenti
(Sweet Moments) bakery in Roccaraso, Italy, had so many repeat visits by a persistent brown bear that loved their biscuits and refused to stay where a helicopter relocated him 24 miles away, the couple had to put bear-proof bars on their windows!
