IDAHO COLLEGE KILLER GETS A FREE PASS!

Crime scene tainted by cops will prevent a murder conviction

-

CLUELESS small-town cops destroyed vital evidence and turned the horrific University of Idaho murder house into a contaminated crime scene — and legal experts now warn the butcher who slaughtered four students will NEVER do time! Overmatched Moscow, Idaho, lawmen are being blasted for allowing DNA tissue samples and other physical evidence vital to convicting a killer to be compromised at the bloodsoaked crime scene.

One expert tells The

National ENQUIRER local cops “botched” the investigation and claims they “obliterated” mountains of evidence by waiting too long to properly investigate.

“The time that elapsed between when the bodies were found and when the forensics team arrived allowed crucial evidence to be corrupted by weather or other activity,” explains one source close to the investigation. Former NYPD officer and criminal defense attorney Pete Gleason believes Moscow’s boys in blue are in over their heads.

“The local police seem to have bungled the case so badly that even if they catch the culprit, they may never be able to convict him,” Gleason tells The ENQUIRER. “They completely screwed up the crime scene and don’t seem to know how to handle the investigation.”

Apartment mates Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle,

20, and Kaylee Goncalves,

21, were brutally butchered along with Xana’s 20-year-old boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, on Nov. 13 — and investigators appear to be dithering ever since.

Parents of the victims say they were told the bloodstained, off-campus home was a “mess of evidence” and were reportedly horrified

when befuddled Moscow Police Chief James Fry held a baffling press conference and couldn’t even answer basic questions about the bloodbath.

Kaylee’s father, Steven Goncalves, publicly expressed his “frustration” with the lack of progress in the case and shockingly revealed he learned of the murders from family members on campus — not the Moscow cops!

“I haven’t earned the ability to grieve the way that I want to grieve,” he says. “I want to be able to just have justice first.” When asked HOW the killer — or killers — could stab four people to death without waking the two other roommates in the house, Chief Fry weakly responded, “We’re looking everywhere.”

The buffaloed top cop initially couldn’t even say whether his department would seek assistance from police in neighboring Washington state. “I cannot comment on that,” he offered. “I’m not even aware.”

Chicago cop turned private investigator Paul Huebl believes the local police have shown a disturbing lack of experience.

“They have almost ZERO background dealing with homicides,” he marvels. “The last one they had there was seven years ago!

“They immediately should have brought in experts from larger departments or the FBI, who know what they’re doing. Now, it may be too late!” Dozens of FBI agents and state police have since been deployed to aid in the investigation, but the clock is ticking and the damage is likely already done, according to Gleason.

“They’re starting from behind the eight ball,” he says. “And given the duration of the search, it’s not encouraging.” Neighbor and third-year law student Jeremy Reagan attracted attention when he offered his opinions on the case online, as social media posters speculated he may be the fiend responsible for the carnage. “I didn’t do it!” Jeremy insisted in a recent television interview. “I have nothing to hide. I’m willing to give DNA, fingerprints, whatever they need.”

Reagan was questioned by police but not taken into custody.

“They seem to be grabbing at straws,” says Gleason. “It feels like amateur hour out there.”
