JONBENET’S DAD DEMANDS JUSTICE! Insists new DNA tests will crack 26-year-old cold case murder – but cops are balking
LITTLE beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey’s fed-up father is demanding justice — and begging Colorado cops to turn over key evidence to outside investigators — after 26 years of dead ends in the tyke’s chilling murder!
Determined dad John Ramsey, 79, requested an in-person meeting with Colorado Gov. Jared Polis to discuss his request and the fruitless investigation into JonBenét’s 1996 death.
In an emotional letter, Ramsey told the politician “time for answers is running out! The murder of my daughter can never be undone. There will never be peace or closure. But there can — and should — be justice.”
On Dec. 26, 1996, the adorable girl was reported missing from her family’s Boulder mansion, where a bizarre ransom note was discovered, demanding $118,000 for her return. Experts said the ransom demand be in mom Patsy's appeared handwriting! to Hours later JonBenét’s lifeless body was found in the house’s basement by Ramsey. Authorities determined the six-year-old schoolgirl was beaten, strangled and appeared sexually assaulted.
Both parents were originally eyed as suspects, but were later cleared. In 2008 — two years after Patsy’s death from ovarian cancer — DNA pointing to an unknown individual was identified on JonBenét’s pajamas.
This year, Ramsey has spent months pressuring Boulder police to turn over crime scene evidence — including DNA samples — to an outside agency with more advanced testing abilities than municipal labs. He wants the DNA run through nationwide databases holding genetic evidence on convicted and accused sex offenders.
“Whoever is responsible for this has lived the last 25 years in fear of being discovered; in fear that technology would
one day evolve to the point that this homicide could be solved,” he says. “That day, and that technology, are here now.”
His demands come weeks after the Boulder Police Department announced it was partnering with the Colorado Cold Case Review Team in hopes of finally unmasking JonBenét’s killer!
Ramsey says, “Solving the murder of my daughter will not fill the void in my heart, but it will identify and remove a demented and dangerous person from our midst and, in doing so, potentially protect the lives of other children.”
