GMA queen tries to save herself as co-star T.J. drowns
SKITTISH Amy Robach threw fellow Good Morning America anchor T.J. Holmes overboard after their extramarital affair was exposed because the ambitious news vixen is desperate to keep her sinking career afloat, insiders dish. “Amy couldn’t take the heat,” a source exclusively spills to The National ENQUIRER. “She knew she had to get rid of him right away if there was any hope to save herself.”
As The ENQUIRER previously reported, the fling between the cheaters — who are both wed to other people — rocked the top-rated morning news show when it became public on Nov. 30.
ABC News president Kim Godwin even branded the seedy scandal an “internal nternal and external distraction” — and the duo was suspended indefinitely!
Meanwhile, rumors are swirling about the professional futures of Amy, 49, and T.J., 45. Tipsters tattle the pair’s sordid shenanigans infuriated both network execs and GMA queen bee Robin Roberts, who warned the love-crazy couple to rein in their raunchy romance — or else!
“Robin hates drama and scandal,” an insider blabs. “But they didn’t listen.”
But the spy squeals Amy quickly did an about-face upon realizing her job may be on the line!
“She likes T.J. But she wasn’t about to throw away everything she’s worked for over 30 years on a stupid crush,” the insider confides.
“It’s survival of the fittest — and she thinks she has a better chance to survive without him weighing her down.”
Days after T.J.’s dalliance with the daytime darling was revealed, he was also accused of having an affair with then-married GMA producer Natasha Singh in 2016. Singh, who’s now divorced and working at CBS, has not commented on the allegations.
Holmes got hitched to attorney Marilee Fiebig, 44, in 2010 — the same year Robach tied the knot with former Melrose Place stud Andrew Shue, 55.
Network insiders say Amy now feels she was a fool to ever canoodle with her costar and is angry at herself for potentially torpedoing her future!
“She was feeling unloved in her marriage, and suddenly this younger man woos her. She just let it happen and is now terrified she’ll be paying the price,” a source whispers. Ironically, moles say suspicious Andrew may have blown the lid off the torrid entanglement by hiring a private investigator to tail the twosome!
Sources snitch remorseful Amy is now wearing out the phones of Robin, 62, and producers as she vows to put the embarrassment behind her and work to regain their trust. However, her rep insists tattletales aren’t being truthful — and she’s still hooked up with Holmes!
But the insider squeals, “Amy’s got a tough row to hoe. GMA is a family show, and she played an equal part in putting a big blemish on it — forever.”
