Widowed mother may not sing again
CANADIAN songbird Celine Dion’s wings have been clipped by a rare neurological disease that’s likely to end her storied career and put her in an early grave!
Courageous Celine, 54, was forced to scrap her 2023 concert tour dates and keep her Las Vegas residency on hold while she battles StiffPerson Syndrome (SPS), a one-in-a-million disease that causes rigid muscles and agonizing spasms. “Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used sed to,” says Celine.

“This is just a severe diagnosis to have, especially if you’re an entertainer,” says Harvard Medical School rheumatologist Dr. Simon Helfgott, who hasn’t treated the singer. “It’s going to be very challenging to continue.” But widow Celine, who lost manager hubby René Angélil in 2016, wants to use her downtime to mentor other artists, including RenéCharles, a budding rapper. “She is trying to find a silver lining in the darkest days of her life,” says another source.
